April Sigil: Fire In The Head

Celtic Shamans would describe shamanic ecstasy, or inspiration as a “Fire In The Head”. A burning intimacy, that overwhelms the senses and clears the mind and heart with insight, wisdom and joy.

Longing and belonging blend as does the feeling of clear purpose and mystery. There’s a feeling of being at the center-point of the universe. That it is there to serve you, and teach you.

Sometimes we treat spiritual work in a sober, taciturn and disciplined manner. We take it all a bit too seriously. And there might be a tendency to want to get even more serious, now the world seems to be ending (again).

We feel called to serve, to change, to evolve. That is good. Then our minds come in and go: “Alright, move aside, I’ve got this!”

We plan things, we execute our actions with aplomb, and then we get frustrated when things don’t turn out the way we expected them to.

What if the state of joy is the goal? That’s it. Curating our lives in such a manner, that we create more room for joy. Allowing for that powerful force that synchronizes all events to guide us, to move us. Then the dreams we dream become reality, without any grand effort. But by allowing ourselves to let go. To fall into the river, and move with the current.

There is so much outside of our control. There is so much out there that wants to control. But controlling things isn’t turning out the way we hoped it would. In fact it seems to create more problems that we then feel compelled to control! And so on.

The Fire in The Head, is the blessed breaking point. When we finally relent. Or are broken open. The energy surges upwards and outwards, and we feel connected again! The light becomes so strong, that the dark is laid bare, bringing beauty to ugliness, joy to despair. Unity of opposites. The Lion laying down with the Lamb.

The much needed (r)evolution starts inside.

"If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration" said Nikola Tesla. I quite agree. I’ve seen seas part by aligning my energy. And when joy is present, it is like being carried around by the Mother. Doors open. Hearts are exposed. Tears are gladly shed. Everything conspires to bring you to your destiny.

The pay off for spiritual work should be joy. This sigil is to help us focus on what matters. To invite in at least the possibility of joy, if joy is hard to come by. But perhaps that is an illusion. Consider the possibility of “unreasonable happiness”.

When you stare at or visualize this sigil. Imagine the white helix that is traveling up the sigil is also traveling up your spine, touching and invigorating each chakra as it moves up the body. The bottom circle represents the root chakra. Grounded and rooted in love.

The top circle is the crown. Lit up and burning with white fire. The seed of expansion and ecstasy.

This is a good sigil to have around, to be used frequently without expectation. Like most things this experience will come when most unexpected. This sigil is more of a reminder that joy is available, that you too, have access to spiritual ecstasy.

“Sweet One, do not let the world of despair fool you. The fires burn to clear out the rotten debris of the eons. The bud still grows on the limb. The mother still breastfeeds her child. The stars still shine. And your heart still beats. The rhythm of life’s drum bangs all the louder when death is present. We are all fated to die. So Live Now! Feel the fire coursing through your veins, taste the salt of your tears, and join in the dance!”
